Yeah I don't like this anymore. Well I don't wanna be a baby about this and just skipped another anime season because I'm actually following some anime this season. So let's talk about these anime in this Anime Report for Spring 2020.
Spring 2020 seems to be one of the most varied season I've seen and it also count for the quality of the anime themselves. Since ReZero and Oregairu got postponed, there's no sense of domination of any series. Which makes this season not as unbalance as like say Summer 2019. Now it has some hindrance because since the anime from this season are varied in quality, There is no standout anime that was like immediately great. Looking at MAL and you can see the new series are not rated higher than 8 and that kinda worries me. Still I do like most of the anime I saw so far so let's talk about the worst of them all which isn't actually that bad.
TAMAYOMI
As I said, this anime isn't that bad not at all. The writing is decent and the chemistry between these characters are well handled, it is believable. But holy hell this animation is very jarring. The face is just felt wrong especially when ironically there's a baseball move happened. It felt like mid-tear 2000's anime and this has the potential to be meme material in five-year time. It's the worst anime I saw this season and if it wasn't for the lesbian storyline I would drop this.
GAL & DINO
This anime is weird...very very weird.

TOWER OF GOD
This is probably the most important anime if it's became successful and by the ratings I think that it will. This is an anime adaptation from a webtoon comic of the same name from South Korea. And what do I think of it?
Well I was surprised and concerned about this anime. On the one hand, man this production and the art style is one of the most refreshing I've ever seen. The rough drawing with the regular anime aesthetic really blend well with the gorgeous background and settings. Not to mention Kevin Penkin awesome OST as usual. But there's a certain hollowness in the writings that does bugged me a bit. Especially how they will handle Bam backstory and how well the rest of the anime could maintain the quality. Still I could recommend this anime but for me I'll wait until it finished because I might make a deep dive on this anime soon.
HAMEFURA
Otome Isekai or My Next Life As Villainess is the latest new isekai show that have yet another twist. But, this twist is really clever as this girl died and transported into otome game where she became Catharina or the villainess of the game. Now the twist is that no matter what happened, she always got the end of the stick either get exiled or died. Now it's time for her to undo the crimes of Catharina since childhood.
This anime is surprisingly witty and clever with its jokes. Catarina is one of the best isekai character since Megumin. The narrative is very much interesting. And BISEXUAL REP!!!
SING YESTERDAY TO ME
Once I saw the first three episodes, I knew that this anime will be either insuffrible gunk or a real deep dive into Gen Z attitude towards love and romance. Thankfully it's the former because the writing is good as hell and the characterization is so spot on. Haru probably going to be best girl of the season. The animation is so refreshing from Doga Kobo who only known for moe apparently (despite there's Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun). Great stuff.
PRINCESS CONNECT: RE-DIVE
Another day, another new anime based on Mobile Games. But, I think this is a good one?
Part of the reason why this anime is kinda genius is the dynamic of the characters. All four of them have so much chemistry and with how distinct their personality are it makes for good comedy. The action and the animation as well is fantastic by Cygames. The best part of the anime is actually the character design because so much of anime these days lack some creative design. Here not only most of the characters distinct by their appearance, but also very creative as well. The best one is the Llama girl which she can turned into human just like magical girl. So yeah good anime indeed.
KAKUSHIGOTO
This anime is cute in so many ways. For start Takahashi Rie. I think I don't have anything to add here. Also there's a heartwarming dad and daughter relationship as her dad tryna hide his mangaka lives from his daughter. This anime also have Indonesian rep...as a foreign workforce or as I like to call it abroad maid. ehhhh this is still a good anime and one of the best of the season.
KAGUYA-SAMA S2
Yeah this anime is the best of the season and I will review this anime when it's all done. But I wanna add one thing in this before we wrap up the reports and that is the politics of this anime is something to be believed and made to some of the best jokes of the entire year.
Okay that's all I can highlights but there's more anime that I could talk about but because of their postponement I just save them when they have five episodes aired in any of the season following so stay tuned for that as well.
