K-ON! Season One Quick Review

Oh shit I haven't post anything in a three months well let's change that shall we?

Good morning/aftenoon/and evening everyone I'm some guy with his opinion and my opinion is like a nose. Sorry for the lack of post, I've been through hard times lately with school, personal struggle etc. But now I'm back and what better way to starts my comeback is to become a weeb pleb. We are gonna be talking about K-ON! or Keion in Japan. this show is popular in among anime fans and I think the perfect way to starts become a modern anime fans, but why is that? Well let's explore!

This anime takes place in a girl high school where our main character Yui Hirasawa just starting her junior year when she was told by Nodoka to get a club already because she's been there for 2 weeks. Meanwhile Ritsu wanna join to the light music club with Mio, and there's something about Tsumugi or whatever and that's the show. Not the best from what I could described but what makes this anime so special is the interaction between characters, and how their personality hold the band together. Yui is carefree and very clumsy but can be focused on one thing only makes it the most relatable out of the members, Ritsu is more flashy, very energetic, and likes to prank Mio which is the shy type of the group but she has a strength of great songwriting and not giving up, perfect waifu material there (I'm sorry for that I've been gone for too long). but she's not my bitch that goes to Tsumugi, now I can explain this because

A. she's playing keyboard and of course I can relate to her since I've been playing that shit
B. her humbleness even though she's rich as fuck she keep to be humble in front of her friends which I adore
and C. I'd fuck with every blonde girl

and also in this season we get another member (YOU'RE NOT EVEN DONE SEASON ONE FFS) named Azusa with a great introduction

What a good time, her characteristic hasn't been known in this season yet but from what in this season told us she kinda like Mio if she's more pure and kinda confrontational about a problem.

So that was our main members let's briefly talk about the side character. Nodoka is Yui best friend and she's fine but nothing is fleshed out yet for her which is ashamed because I kinda like her attitude. Ui is more motherly while Sawako is very wild.

Well that was done now let's talk about the soundtracks in this anime because they're rocked. the balance between the guitar and synth line are superb, I've never heard this soundtracks this well made ever since Attack On Titan and that's a high bar indeed. they never felt overstuffed and clean, that's one thing I adore is how raw some of the instruments are especially the outro. the song that Mio made is probably one of the best with the guitar and the pluck bass makes it one satisfying listen. Can't wait to buy the soundtracks soon.

there's some negative things about this anime mainly the comedy can be wincey but that'd be given since it is a slice to life anime. another big problem that this anime have is some episode felt hollow, there's no weight to it especially the episode where they spend their winter. Also some character do bend the line of human decency even they got called out by Azusa as a matter of fact and the last thing is NOT ENOUGH SONGS YOU FUCKERS

But at the end of the day I still do enjoy this, might not be for everyone though but with dynamic characters, great soundtracks (even though it's not that much) and okay if not shaky comedy makes this an enjoyable season, can't wait to watch the long second season and a movie so stay tune for that. In the meantime I have some other anime to dissect.

Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 2025

Music is a medium that reflects culture the most instant. While both movies and TV shows are usually have a time frames for them to be created and it doesn't immediately impacted the culture as much. Music especially pop music are easier and faster to make. With the invention of the internet and artists have shorter time in between releasing the music they have made during that year and marketing it. I mean you can see that happening in real time with the Kendrick Lamar vs Drake rap beef where the culture was shaped by these two rappers going at it and ultimately Kendrick won that battle. If there's a tangible time capsule that you can consume everyday then I believe music is the gateway to what's going on within a period of time. I give up describing 2025 pop music. Whenever music historian will talked about 2025 pop music they might say how stale the chart is. But that characterization will missed the whole picture of 2025 as a whole. Strictly speaking, the listening habi...

Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 2024

2024 will go down in history as one of the best year of all time...for pop music. Okay that's probably an exaggeration, but it is true that this year has been extraordinarily great for popular music. A lot of things that was bad about 2023; the abundance of lazy samplings, ragebait songs that supposed to make you mad, the absence of hip-hop, and the aura of unpleasantness that peppered the year 2023 all of them are somewhat gone. The fact that this year started out with a rap beef and it ended with a continuation of the biggest rap beef since the 90s. The comeback of pop music in a big way that's very snatched and girlynation while also having a great queer undercurrent, hip-hop having a great year and all that, and even country have its own redemption with some marginalized community hitting their strides. But, it's not all pretty and early 2024 before HISS came out things were continuing from 2023 by being rough and just nothing going on. Latin music especially having a v...

Top 10 Best Hit Songs of 2001

My fascination towards 2000s music is basically an understatement of the decade. I'd say that 2000s is one of the best decade for music even when some of the albums and songs are asinine garbage. The thing that interest me with this decade overall is how varied the music really is. One of my criticism of the 80s is that it can be a bit samey sounding by the end of the decade, but also the productions of the songs can be slapdashed and very busy. Meanwhile in the 2000s you can hear the creativity and innovation as technology in music production improved overtime. From the success of MP3 to the creation of online music stores and even music streaming and the advent of MySpace and FL Studios, you have it all really to make a perfect chaos. 2001 on the other hand...yeah it's not that memorable. When people think about 2001 they always point to the tragedy that was 9/11 while ignoring what happened to the rest of the year. While I'm not going to describe everything that happened...
