  2024 has been a blast in terms of the chart and pop music as a whole. We have so many events that impacted the chart in a significant matter. Album bombs after album bombs, Kendrick Lamar & Drake beef where Kendrick came out on top as usual, the rise of queer pop from Chappell Roan and even the TikTok hits, Sabrina Carpenter in general having a breakout year, and overall great music just keep flowing in. As a pop music watcher seeing that not only these events are happening outside of my sphere, but also that it drove the pop culture as a whole making 2024 probably one of the best years for pop music this century.  As time went on though, all things must come to an end and with the leaves turning the color that symbolized decompose, we are now looking at what's replacing these hits. I mean I'm hopeful that it won't be that bonkers because this is the season that you should be for relaxing and- wait Linkin Park just recruited a new lead vocal that might have connection...

    You know something that I realized during the chaos that was May and early June for the chart? Sometimes, you really are sick of songs that lingered on the chart for more than a year. Last year was almost the final straw with how a lot of the songs are just from 2022 and even older just squatting the chart that you have to go through one eights of the chart just to fill up the songs for the ranking. Now, after all of the chaos cleanse the chart for good, the chart has never feel more fresh than ever before. And also the fact that the points for the chart has gotten even stronger with people actually listening to new music (just look at the Spotify chart) only filled me with joy that I've been a part of this historic moment. 2024 did scared me one bit when Vultures had an album bomb and you see all the discourse if this song is worse than that Jason Aldean song or whatever. You know I actually have tried and make the ranking for this season from the usual start of the Spring season and I was talking about how boring the chart is and kinda suck the chart is right now. But as I tried to write that draft...popular music went batshit insane and we haven't got that new Taylor Swift album. Not only there were album bomb galore, not only that this chart is probably the most fresh that I have covered thus far, but also we got rap beef, Hozier comeback hit, a darkwave song almost hit #1, and two new girl bands that came out of nowhere. And the fact that we got rid of the discourse out of the way (well we still have the rap beef). This chart became the most interesting than it has ever been.
